May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Waspam -Part 2-

One morning a mother came to visit her daughter and brought along her baby Griffin. We were literally horrified  at the shape that Griffin was in. She said he was approximately 2 years old and weighed 16 lbs.
We asked if we could take him to the hospital-clinic because he was at the point of dying. His skin was almost transparent and awfully thin, he only has small tufts of scraggly blond hair from malnutrition. His belly huge and full of worms, yet the rest of his body with only skin and bone. When he cried it was only a pitiful moan that brought no tears.
I have never seen anything so pitiful and heartbreaking in my life. I have seen pictures of situations like this before. The realty of seeing and hearing it was a slap in the face, realizing this a real human being that God created and loves! Also facing the realty that he is not the only one but there are thousands of little Griffins around the world that are hungry and dying and there is no one to help them.
Made me want to become some super woman that goes out and rescues every single hurting and hungry person. But God showed me that I can't help everyone, I just have to be willing to help one at a time as he places them in my path and that is all he is asking me to do.
The next day Lauren and Rachel flew him to Managua so that he would have better medical care thus increasing his chance of surviving. The Dr. in Waspam gave him almost 0 chance of living more than a week. But our God is so much stronger than any medical could ever be!!!

The doctors are saying he is much older then 2 because of the teeth that he already has. They think he might even be as old as 7 or 8. Most of the Miskito Indians have no concept of time which in turn makes it hard to give our kids birthdays.
Just 2 weeks later and look at this picture. Made me cry when I first saw it. Never would I have believed that in just 2 short weeks that he would improved this much. We serve and amazing and mighty GOD!!!!
Just look at that smile!!!!
I want to thank everyone that has been praying for him. Please continue to pray because he still has a long way to go but with God's help he will keep improving.

The day that I flew out a 19 year old mom came to us and asked if we would take her 9 month old baby girl. Little Wanda is blind and Hydrocephalic (water on the brain).
I flew her back with me to Managua and left her at a Christain Medical Mission in Leon that has another little girl with the same problem.
The Mom is planning on moving to Leon to go to university so she can be close to her baby.

Thank ya'll for standing in prayer for me and all that I come in contact with.
